Hiding under a wooden bed, this young beauty was actually dying from advanced mange. She'd lost much more than her hair; she'd lost weight and vigor--the mange had robbed her of her happiness.
But once on our treatment table, Margaret revealed a beautiful gentle capacity for joy. And right away she recognized the treatment team as friends. We see by her ear notch that we'd previously spayed her during what must have been an admission for Canine Distemper.
She has the familiar twitch and no control of her tongue--neurological damage that stays for the rest of her life. Now, ensuring that she eats a LOT, we tackle the mange with medication, baths, and regular cuddles. Margaret is an ideal patient; agreeable at every step. And guess what color she is? Well, you'll just have to watch :)
