“Talent is temporary, Hype is temporary. I want to be more than an internet sensation, because that term puts you in a box”. Chase Adams describing what it feels like to be as known as he was at an early age, only to have time tick by and the pressure start to sink in. We see internet prodigies all the time in the social media age we live in and they all have one thing in common, being much more advance than their peers with more hype than most would know how to handle. Chase grew to popularity when his ballislife mixtape came out 13 years ago when he was just a 12 year old 7th grader with hoop dreams, a lot of heart, and a growing fan base that rooted for his success. He was deemed a prodigy for his handle, speed and quickness and ironically his lack of size compared to the competition. Everyone knew who he was and wanted to see what he would do with the skills the video said he had and his opportunity to be the next big small point guard on the map. He began to be a mainstay on YouTube and the hype grew and grew until it was once no more. Adams is not a failure by any means, because he at least can inspire the next small player that see his video and believe they can overcome an obstacles that’s defeated many. Size.
