Lamborghini entered F1 as an engine supplier in the late 80s and supplied some of the back of the grid teams with their V12s, hoping to get onto the same level as Ferrari after Chrysler bought the Italian brand in 1987.
And while they had flashes of brilliance, some of it was luck but some of it was on pure pace, and when Lambo had its own team at the start of the 1990s, there was a point where they scored two top tens which was encouraging.
But it was a false dawn.
So what happened with Lambo's engines? And would the 1994 partnership with McLaren done anything? Let's have a look.
