In Formula One, the long standing and successful teams get some special bonuses. That seems fair, right? It's like a loyalty scheme. And a lot of people are annoyed that F1 becoming an exclusive club at the expense of Andretti is a bad move.

However, has Indycar almost done exactly the same thing? Locking in most of the cars and then leaving others to fight over the scraps? That's basically what the new Indycar system does.

So what is it, and how does it work? I try to figure it all out...
