They say good things comes to those who wait, well in sports, specifically basketball, that idea is a very tricking when you factor in everything that’s at stake on the ultra competitive journey to the NBA. Don’t get me wrong, nothing’s degrading about making it to any pro level of basketball, but for every hooper the goal is to one day play in the league. But timing is everything, and a lot of other factors have to fall into place in order to get that opportunity. Devin Askew is a perfect example. Leaving high school he was ahead of the curve reclassifying to an earlier class and enrolling at Kentucky after just turning 18 years old. What was supposed to be his senior year, head was the starting point guard for the most recognized school in the country who all eyes are focused on. At that point all signs pointed up for Askew, a top 10 point guard in the nation and Jordan Brand Classic participant. But a school like Kentucky is a very difficult program to play for. He left and enrolled at Texas and had a much worse year. He ended up transferring two more times, 4 schools in 5 years. Now he has one more year left to accomplish his dream. 4 Schools In 5 Years!
